Morgan County Ecotourism Association
Contact: Kris O'Brien dobrien@nfis.com

The Morgan County Ecotourism Association (MCEA) supports SCWA in its efforts to preserve and protect one of Morgan County's precious natural resources, Sleepy Creek.

The water, the springs, the rivers, the farms, the rural aspect, and the dark night skies of our county attract visitors from the major metropolitan areas of Washington, DC, Baltimore, MD, and Pittsburgh, PA, as well as from other areas of the country and the world. These same assets make it an attractive community in which to live and accounts for the increasing numbers of retirees  and weekenders. MCEA supports sustainable development and ecotourism which can capitalize on our county's natural assets while protecting them for future generations, providing diversity in income for our local residents, lowering business costs, attracting businesses that insist on "green" practices, and presenting a model to the country and the world of a community that cares.
